| What We Do |
|
|
Working with an established network of volunteers, we accept donations from
individuals, corporations, hospitals, service clubs, doctors, dentists,
optometrists, retail outlets and more.
We collect materials on an ongoing basis, and store them in our
Woodstock
area warehouse. During our packing season, once a month, or more frequently, we load shipping
containers destined for the neediest parts of Cuba, and elsewhere.
Since the majority of materials is sent directly to institutions (Hospitals, Clinics,
Seniors’ homes, Schools and Orphanages) and Municipal councils, frequent
visits to different parts of the island, are made by Foundation personnel.
We then assess general and specific needs. These trips also serve to visit locations
where materials were previously sent, to spot check/audit the receipt,
condition and utilization of the donated items. The charity demands access
and accountability from all beneficiaries, and usually gets it. The
Foundation also sends some medical equipment and supplies to parts of Africa.
Our network of volunteers includes corporate donors, institutions, and motivated individuals from Woodstock, St. Thomas, London,
Brantford, Cambridge, Chatham, Halton, Goderich, Kitchener, Toronto, Oshawa, Bowmanville,
Cobourg and Barrie.
The Foundation is a Canadian
registered Charity and is able to provide Taxable Receipts for monetary
donations. |
